The CBSSC is involved in student life across all of the CBS majors. There are twelve (12) affiliated interest-based/major-based clubs associated with the CBSSC that serve CBS students in all programs.
Biochemistry Student Association (BiocSA)
BiocSA is an academic association at the University of Guelph that strives to educate, empower and provide academic support to the student body in the area of Biochemistry. Our main focus is to discuss topics of biochemistry, however we expand our meetings into related fields such as microbiology as well as molecular and cellular biology. Botany Club
The University of Guelph Botany Club is a group of fun and dedicated students from multiple backgrounds and disciplines that share a common interest in botany. Come participate in events such as nature hikes, greenhouse and laboratory tours, and an annual trip to the Royal Botanical Gardens. We also put on a great show for College Royal. Marine and Freshwater Biology Society (MFBS)
MFBS is an extra-curricular group made up of students from a variety of science backgrounds. This group brings people together who share a common interest in aquatic biology. We run meetings throughout the school year where we talk about interesting news relating to aquatic biology as well as, have guest speakers talk about their area of expertise. We also run events to offer participants engaging new experiences such as discover scuba diving, behind the scenes tour of Ripley's Aquarium, and a tour of an aquaculture research facility.
