CLUBS & ORGANIZATIONS

The CBSSC is involved in student life across all the CBS majors. We currently have 10 affiliated clubs and organizations around campus. 

Biochemistry Student Association

BiocSA is an academic association at the University of Guelph that strives to educate, empower and provide academic support to the student body in the area of Biochemistry. Our main focus is to discuss topics of biochemistry, however we expand our meetings into related fields such as microbiology as well as molecular and cellular biology. BiocSA, where teamwork makes the dream work.

Biomedical Science Student Association (BMSSA)

The Bio-Medical Science Students Association aims to meet the needs of all students in the Bio-Medical Science major both socially and academically. All students in this major are automatically members of the association and are welcome to attend our weekly meetings and all events we hold. The BMSSA organizes many activities such as pizza and prof nights, leadership conferences, volunteer events and more!

Botany Club

The University of Guelph Botany Club is a group of fun and dedicated students from multiple backgrounds and disciplines that share a common interest in botany. Come participate in events such as nature hikes, greenhouse and laboratory tours, and an annual trip to the Royal Botanical Gardens. We also put on a great show for College Royal. Our goal is to share with you the wonders of plant life! 

Guelph Neuroscience Student Association (GNSA)

The Guelph Neuroscience Student Association is a club dedicated to engaging students in the wonderful world of neuroscience. Through collaboration with Professors and other science students, we enjoy the chance to promote both an academic and social atmosphere. All majors are welcome, and we look forward to hearing what about neuroscience interests you and making the 2019/2020 school year another amazing one!

Marine and Freshwater Biology Society

MFBS is an extra-curricular group made up of students from a variety of science backgrounds.  This group brings people together who share a common interest in aquatic biology. We run meetings throughout the school year where we talk about interesting news relating to aquatic biology as well as, have guest speakers talk about their area of expertise. We also run events to offer participants engaging new experiences such as discover scuba diving, behind the scenes tour of Ripley's Aquarium, and a tour of an aquaculture research facility.

Microbiology Student Association

The UoG Microbiology Club knows that there is more than meets the eye everywhere you look.  We organize regular meetings and Micro-themed events, including trips to local breweries, movie nights, trivia nights, and "Meet the Professors" mixers. Molecular Biology & Genetics Student Association (MBGSA)

​The Molecular Biology & Genetics Student Association (MBGSA) is a collection of students in the Molecular Biology & Genetics (MBG) major or minor who simply want to support their class. Through meetings, events and gatherings of social and academic nature, the MBGSA aims to excite and educate students around the University of Guelph campus about the MBG program.

Wildlife Club

The Wildlife Club is a group of like-minded students who share a passion for wildlife and nature. The club promotes outreach and public education through partnership with local organizations. With a rich history and close knit alumni community, the WLC presents no shortage of learning, networking, volunteering and employment opportunities. ​
