President
Julia Mellary (she/her)
Hello! My name is Julia & I'm in my fourth-year of Biomedical Science here at UofG!
My goal on the CBSSC is to create an environment where more tight-knit & welcoming CBS community can flourish. We all play an instrumental role in the growth and development of the CBS - it's time students feel their voices are being heard. This year, the CBSSC team is bringing engaging events, transparent budgeting, functional student supports, and productive forums for student voice to ensure we are serving the CBS student body responsibly.
When I am not in CBSSC-mode, you can find me knitting, listening to Fleetwood Mac, and volunteering for other organizations on campus!
If you have any questions about initiatives this team is committed to implementing this upcoming year, or simply want to chat, please don’t hesitate to reach out! :)
Wishing you a fantastic year ahead!

Vice President Internal
Shaima Alam (she/her)
Hey folks! I'm Shaima, a fifth-year Biochem student, and I'm super excited to better support CBS students and clubs this year!
You will be seeing a lot of new programming coming out. Such as fun O Week events, more engaged student supports, awards, and a revamp on training and socials for the peer mentorship program (PMP). Also, there will be a much needed refresh on the functioning of the accredited student organizations council (ASOC).
Through my role and these projects, I hope to create a thriving and cohesive CBS student community and foster collaborations between majors.
When I'm not having fun on campus, I like going on long drives and walks to discover new places, playing gears of war, and reading high-fantasy and non-fiction.
If you have any questions or concerns, or want to see a new initiative for student support feel free to reach out to me either through email or in person at the CBBSC office (if you don't find me there, I'm also usually hanging around the CSA office).

Vice President of Finance
Roodiya Awosanmi (she/her)
Hi all! My name is Roodiya, I'm in my third year of the Biomedical Science program at UofG, and I'll be the CBSSC VP - Finance for the 2022-2023 school year! This year, I hope to help you bring your great ideas to fruition through the funding of events and initiatives, advocate for your visions on budget utilization, and exemplify transparency and collaboration within the CBSSC. I hope to reinvigorate and bring a sense of open communication to the VP-F role to better allow CBS students to feel heard and represented.
In my free time, I'm an avid reader, crocheter, and bullet journaler! I'm also passionate about music and you can often find me belting show tunes in the shower or in empty hallways. Fun fact: I very briefly played the baritone (not-that-miniature tuba).
I'm so excited for the year to come and I can't wait to be a part of this incredible team and help foster a strong sense of community within the CBS.
Let's get to work Gryphons!
